I read the first series in fourth grade, and I didn't know about book six until at least five months after it came out. Ever since I read that book I have gotten every Wings of Fire the day it came out, and have counted down the days until the next one.

Probably The Hidden Kingdom. I loved the first two, and I read them in about three days, but after reading The Hidden Kingdom I literally just went and bought the next two (and its not like I’m rich, that was all my money or I would have gotten more) so I  wouldn’t have to wait to get them on hold.

And, you know, rainbows.

Okay, all of these books were amazing, but there were three that really gave it away how amazing this series could get.

I love the Hidden Kingdom. I used to think Glory was kinda just that one in camouflage in the corner, being a sarcastic grump (although that's pretty much me.... XD) But when the Hidden Kingdom came, I was really able to open my eyes at her and her life. And then Deathbringer popped in, and that was pretty much the moment my life actually started. Glorybringer is the best best best ship in Pyrrhia. Don't even TRY to tell me otherwise.

The second book that amazed me was, even though it just came out, The Darkness of Dragons. I used to ship Winterwatcher SO hard, so hard that I couldn't even LOOK at Moonbli. Then I saw Qibli's perspective of things... and my heart broke. How he loved Moon but kept thinking Winter deserved her more was AMAZING. I loved how he kept hoping and hoping Cobra would love him, and after all that hoping, he was right... sort of. But he's a valuable character for hoping.

The third book is The Dark Secret. Some of you may not think this book was as amazing as I think, because I'm pretty sure a lot of people like Glory and Tsunami better than Starflight. I did, too. I used to think Starflight was just this NightWing without powers who cowered in the backround. But in this book, Starflight was brave. Not even Tsunami would be brave enough to end up blind so she could save others. That was all Starflight.

I love books where the characters change.

Anyway, might be a biiiiit cheesy XD, but these are my three favorite WOF books that really made me a FanWing. Thank god this series is here, or else I'd pretty much die!

mine was the Dark Secret book 4. I loved when it all started with the capture of starflight. I also loved when Starflight found his father. That was awsome seeing the queen of the nightwings...oops...I forgot her name. It was a good thing that starflight and fatespeaker saw those dream gems. I just love that book so much.

I actually bought the dragonet prophecy when it first came out at a school book fair. Back then my mom loved to read to me, so we sat down one night to start reading it.

After 2 pages mom was like "too much violence your not reading this" and threw the book in a storage bin.

Me three years later: *Finds book* oh hey this book. I'm older now maybe I can read this. *Reads all of it* okAY WHERES THE NEXT ONE--

I knew i was hooked when I finished the 5th book. I looked for more and couldn't find any. I wanted to relive the books so much, that I found the Forums and began to role play on it, getting to experience the WoF dragon world without the book was really fun.

The way I was introduced to WoF was pretty funny, looking back on it. I was at summer camp, and my one friend and I were making a big deal of being Warriors fans. (This was 2015 and I had just turned 12 years old.) My other friend, to retaliate, started making a big deal of this book series she was a fan of, Wings of Fire. I was intrigued, and ordered the first book from the library. It came just as I was about to leave on vacation near the end of the summer. I was only able to read the first half of the book before I left, but I thought about it the whole vacation. I distinctly remember seeing a dragon-shaped shadow in my hotel room and thinking "It's Peril!"

Over the next few months, I devoured all the books that were out. I think at that point, it was only 1-8. I got each from the library, then would read it in one or two days and order the next one. There was no doubt, this had become one of my favorite book series. But I wouldn't call myself a FanWing yet. Why? Because I didn't know the term existed.

January 31, 2016. I was bored, and decided to google Wings of Fire. Maybe there was an official website or something for it. Wow, there was! Not only that, it had a game and something called a forum. What was a forum? I clicked on it. Back then, the Tui Tuesday videos made up most of the stickies. I watched all of them, scrolling through a couple of comments afterwards but not really realizing that the posting and talking to people was the whole point of the forum. The next day, I came back and wandered around some of the RPs and random threads on the first page. I made an account and joined my first RP. That's when I began to call myself a FanWing.

Remember that friend that introduced me to WoF? I went back to her after reading all the books and chatting on the forums and drawing fanart and joining RPs... She had never even finished book 2. What? Yes, she had been making a huge deal out of loving this book series she hadn't even cared enough to finish in the half a year since. It was just peer pressure forcing her to find something to fangirl over to us. But I have her to thank for where I am today.

maybe it's the thought that the universe is so gigantic, so complicated, so wonderous and beautiful and terrible, that the meaning of it might as well be a single number for how well we can understand it.

I loved the first book, but as soon as I finished the second one I became pretty much as hooked as I am now.
