You keep having nightmares.
That's not correct. No one has nightmares here.
you're having dreams. A result of your dark emotions resurfacing in your subconscious.
That's what They say, anyway. Medicine will help, they say.
You don't trust them.
Your dreams get more vivid the more you have them. It always starts out the same.
You are crouching behind a concrete wall, breathing quietly as you watch Them-the people everyone answers to-commit a crime.
you don't remember the crime.
but you know you should be afraid of Them.
Unbeknownst to you, you've committed an infraction of rules you don't even know existed. And now They are watching you.
(typical dystopia. you and a group of kids stumbled upon the "government" doing something bad. they wiped your memory but it still lingers. The world is pretty typical with normal jobs, except no one gets paid and everyone is fed, housed, and given amenities for free because they work. Everyone is relatively nice to each other, there are never major disputes. You can choose your line of work by 18. you all live in the same town, and you find each other after the memory wipe and you recognize each other, but you can't remember why. your parents think you are involved in a Resistance against Them. Things are about to be set in motion.)
