I figured since I was doing Ripnami, why not do the others that I ship, too? Here's Glorybringer:
Glory sighed. She was alone in her hut after a long day of dealing with crazy-cheerful RainWings and muttering NightWings.
"That doesn't sound like a happy sigh." Said a voice from the entryway to the hut.
Glory jumped, her scales turning bright green for a split second before she got them back under control. "! Don't sneak up on the queen like that!" She snapped, irritated.
"Sorry. But still, you didn't seem very happy." Deathbringer shrugged.
"No, I'm not happy. But I might be if you leave me in peace." She huffed.
"But I'm your only protection. You don't want me to leave. If I did, who would stop all of the assassination attempts?" Deathbringer pointed out.
Glory snorted and turned away, back towards the window.
"Really, though, what's bothering you?" The NightWing asked, abandoning the joking tone he usually used.
"It's just . . . being queen, I suppose. It's harder than it looks." Glory answered after a moment. "The majority of the NightWings are willing to let a RainWing rule, but there are still quite a few who think that I'm incapable of being queen."
Deathbringer eyed her for a moment before saying, "You need a break. You've been going nonstop for eight months straight. It's time for you to forget that for a night."
"And are suggesting that that night will be spent with you?" Glory asked, turning to look at him.
"Only if you wish, My Queen." He replied with an exaggerated bow.
Glory rolled her eyes and just managed to keep her scales from showing the pink that started blooming on her wings.
"Oh, come on! I know a really pretty place where you can see a lot of the rainforest from." Deathbringer begged.
"And what makes you think that I want to go on a date with you? You are an assassin, afterall." Glory said.
"I wouldn't dream of killing you! I am insulted that you would even think that!" er squawked with mock hurt.
"Mmm-hmm." Glory replied noncommitally. Then, after a moment, "Fine."
"YAY!" Deathbringer whooped. "Follow me!" He flew off into the rainforestrainforest.
Glory shook her head. "Does he have any sense of respect for his queen?" But she was smiling, despite herself.
Glory followed him all the way to an outcropping of rock on the edge of the kingdom. It was on a hill, and she could see a lot of the rainforestrainforest.
"Isn't it georgeous?" Deathbringer grinned at her.
"It is." She agreed. The three moons had risen, and they provided quite a bit of light.
"I used to come up here when I wanted to escape the island. No one ever found me, and I spent the night here a lot." He said quietly.
"Really?" Glory asked. "You wanted to escape the NightWing island?"
"Yes. That's part of the reason I agreed to be an assassin in the first place. It gave me a chance to leave the smoke and sickness." He replied.
Glory looked sidelong at him. She'd never really thought about why he had decided to become an assassin. "What was the other part?"
"My parents were killed by IceWings. I wanted revenge for their death. Queen Battlewinner told me that I could get it by becoming an assassin, so I did." He told her.
"Did you get revenge?" Glory questioned.
"I did." Came the reply.
They were quiet for a few minutes, sitting in companionable silence. After a while, they talked about things in their dragonethood, about living in the rainforestrainforest, about anything that came to their minds. And slowly, although neither of them noticed it, Glory's scales began to turn a pretty rose-colored pink.
A while into the night, Deathbringer said suddenly, "Can I tell you something?"
"Of course." She answered.
"When I first met you, you were disguised as an IceWing. After a few minutes, I could tell who you really were. I almost decided to kill you, but . . . I couldn't. Somehow, I couldn't bring myself to do it. After you left, I resolved to follow you and kill you then. But I still didn't. I never could. After a long time, I realized why. When you came back for me when the volcano was exploding, I knew." He said.
"Knew what?" Glory asked, even though she was pretty sure she knew what he was going to say.
"That I love you." Deathbringer looked straight into her eyes.
Glory's scales flared a shade brighter. "Do you?"
"I do." His gaze didn't waver.
"Well, then you're in luck. Because I love you, too." She smiled.
Deathbringer pulled her close and wrapped his wings around her. "Then would you by any chance do the honor of marrying me?" He asked.
"Why not?" Glory said delightedly.
"Who would have thought?" Deathbringer mused. "A RainWing Queen and a NightWing assassin, falling in love?"
That was probably super crazy cheesy, but tell me what you think anyway!
