Please enjoy!  Even if you don't know what Doctor Who is, you can still read this!

Chapter One: Well, This is New...

The Doctor tripped on his way out of the TARDIS, falling flat on the ground.

The Time-Lord looked around, realizing this place was unlike any planet he had ever been on.  "Curious.  Flying creatures that breathe fire, spiraling rock palaces, and what seems to be a prison in the sky!  What civilization could this be?"

He paused, feeling different.  He was not in his usual form.  The Doctor typically looked human, but was really a Time-Lord, the last of his kind.  And he hadn't regenerated, so how could he be different?

Looking down into a puddle, he realized he was now one of the flying creatures.

"GAH!"  He jumped back, before gazing at his reflection in the puddle.  "Why am I one of these--these--dragons?  I suppose it could be a TARDIS malfunction, but why?"

He was right; he really was a dragon.  He had long, spiraling horns, humongous wings, thick talons, a long tail with club-like spikes at the end, and orange scales.  The Doctor grinned.  "Finally, a universe where I'm a ginger."

Another dragon, whom looked similar to him but with different colored scales, landed beside him.  "Halt in the name of Queen Ruby!" he said, a scowl upon his face.  This dragon's scales were a darker shade of orange, compared to the Doctor's bright orange scales.  His eyes were a deep green, locking him in his gaze.

The Doctor stood there, perplexed.  "Astounding.  You're a dragon, and you can TALK.  And I can talk!  You creatures are fascinating!"

The other dragon gave him a cold stare.  "I don't know what you're on about, but I'll tell you that--that blue box thing, whatever it is, is illegal."

The Time-Lord turned dragon whipped his head around, staring at his beloved time machine.  "Really?  You've probably seen nothing like it before, but I promise you, the TARDIS is no threat."

"Well..." the dragon, presumably a guard, coughed, trying to think of what to say about that.  "Well, it needs to be inspected by Queen Ruby before you can continue."

He tried walking into the time machine, but the Doctor flared his wings open, blocking him.  "Look, you can't go in there."  If someone were to go into the TARDIS and press a few buttons, who knew what era they'd be sent to?

The dragon roared, a few more guards alighting down beside him.  "I'm not afraid of you, whoever you are."

"That wasn't my intention," the Doctor continued.  "Give me a moment."

He then went into the TARDIS, rustled about, and popped back out only to see the confused stares of the guards.  He then handed a paper to the first guard.

The guard read the paper, then shook his head.  "'Head Dragon of All Dragons'?  There's no such title."

"Oh."  Quickly, the Doctor thought of a better response.

The guard frowned at the Doctor's psychic paper.  "Fine, I guess you can come through, if you're meeting with Queen Ruby.  BUT--"

The Doctor sighed.  "Hold that thought.  Besides a dragon, what am I?"

"Part of the SkyWing tribe, unless you're a traitor," the guard said without a second thought.  How could this stranger not know what tribe he was from?  He couldn't have been a RainWing in disguise, as he didn't have the frill or usual RainWing personality.  This dragon was much more eccentric.  He continued with his speech.  "As I was saying, you'll have to wait before getting a private audience with Her Majesty."

"Hmph.  I don't like waiting," the Doctor grumped.  He tried to follow the SkyWing on wobbly wings as the guard took off into the air. "The box comes too," he added quickly, motioning to the TARDIS.

The SkyWing guard sighed, waving a talon at his companions, who started heaving the box into the air.  "As long as that thing isn't a weapon."

The Doctor laughed, forgetting about his difficulty flying.  "A weapon?  The TARDIS would never be used as a weapon, and never has.  Anyways, I would love to learn all about your society.  How do you build such towering palaces?  What about humans?  Do you have humans?  Are you the dominating species here, or..."

The guard covered his ears as the stranger babbled on.

I know a very little bit about Doctor Who, but I know some. This is really cool!

Mind if one of my ocs is in this? I have two in mind. They were raised by scavengers and one can speak English just as good as dragon language.

Very good!  I'm looking forward to the next chapter.  By the way, which Doctor is this?  I'm guessing Eleven, but I'm just checking to make sure.

(Sorry, this post didn't go through earlier. :)

@Fierywolf  Sure!  Just give me a little bit more information on them, and I'll see if I can fit them in somewhere.  I can't promise they'll be main characters, but they'll at least get a speaking part.

@Generalgoblin Thank you!  I'm using Eleven in this one after a long debate with myself.  (Ten's my favorite Doctor, but I haven't really written anything with Eleven in it yet.  I had to solve this problem.) XD

Mods, please let this through.

@Yellowparakeet :-)

@Icewings Thanks!  If you're hooked on the first episode, KEEP WATCHING!  It's honestly an amazingly written series.  That also means you're on the Ninth Doctor, and this one involves the Eleventh, so I'll try to not make it very spoilery.  (Also: You'll love ALL of the Doctors.  Especially Ten and Eleven.  Dear moons, you have to watch every episode of this series!)

Thank you everyone for all the positive feedback!  I was going to write the next part tomorrow, but with all of the good comments, I think I'll post the next chapter sometime today!

@Fierywolf  Sure!  If I can have a little more information on them, I could probably put them in somewhere.  I'm not promising they will be main characters, but they'll at least have speaking roles.  And I'll give you credit at the end of the chapter for those characters.

@Generalgoblin  Hmmm.  I seriously have no idea.  I want to say Ten or Eleven, but here's my problem: I'm in the middle of season 6 now, but I ADORE Ten and use him in a million and one fanfics.  To be safe, I'm leaning towards Eleven, as I haven't really written much for him except a couple of personal things.

Chapter Two: Meet the Queen

The Doctor didn't expect to be thrown into a prison.

According to the guard, whose name was Rockslide, all of the prisoners of the Queen were kept here before Ruby took the thrown.  They were mostly prisoners of war, with a SkyWing here and there, only because they didn't follow orders of the Queen.  Now that Queen Ruby ruled, she had pardoned all of the SkyWings in the prison and only kept the dragons who had done something seriously wrong.

Which, knowing the previous Queen, Scarlet, was absolutely no one.

The Doctor turned around, looking at the chains that were along the other tower, connecting to another pair of chains on his tower, which he was very glad he wasn't in.  Well, except for a seperate pair of chains binding his wings so he didn't try to fly off.  "Clever.  They're all connected, so none of the prisoners could escape."

"Uh huh," Rockslide said, annoyed of this dragon.  He couldn't have been from the Sky Kingdom; SkyWings just didn't...talk that much.  Or that quickly.  Or have papers that could change the words written upon them.  (Rockslide wondered if his mind was playing tricks on him then.)  Or, for that matter, have great big blue boxes that supposedly traveled through time and space.

This stranger was odd, that was for sure.

The peculiar SkyWing fumbled with a stone between his talons, still talking a mile a minute.  "So, what's this Queen like?  You said everyone of the tribes was ruled by a Queen.  And the last one sounded rather...rude.  I don't think I'd like her.  What about this 'Queen Ruby'?"

"Queen Ruby is a very fair ruler," Rockslide answered.  "Never question her methods."

This caught the Doctor's attention.  "Why would I do that?"

He sighed.  "She doesn't believe in killing prisoners, or keeping them.  She hates war, and was the first one to try making peaceful alliances with the other tribes.  I think she was the one who banished Peril, however...that was expected...and before you ask, Peril was a dangerous dragon born with too much fire.  She used to be the previous Queen's champion in the arena, and killed many dragons."

Luckily for Rockslide, the Doctor had already been told about the arena.  Now, however, he was thinking about how unfair it was that this 'Peril' dragon was banished.  It didn't seem like the whole story had been told.  He shook his head and continued talking.  "Well, I don't think this Queen's methods are wrong, if that's what you were suggesting."

"You better not," the chief guard growled.

The Doctor looked morosely at the ground.  "Are there any tribes that aren't this violent?"

Rockslide mumbled something about RainWings before spotting a pair of guards.  They hovered over the edge of the rock tower.

"Oh, finally," he said, relieved.  "This excuse for a SkyWing has been boring the living daylights out of me."

"I have not!"  The Doctor protested.

"Just take him to the Palace already.  I can't stand him.  Good luck," he told his companions.

They nodded as one clipped off the chains on the Doctor's wings.  He stretched them out, ready to follow the guards to the Queen's Palace.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  "Is this a joke?"

Queen Ruby stared at the SkyWing in front of her.  How could he possibly be telling the truth?

"Yes, you probably think I'm crazy, and I'm not sure if I should've said that, but I'm being serious," the Doctor pleaded.  "All I want is the TARDIS back and I'll be out of your scales."

Ruby studied him atop her small thrown made of simple stone and a few gems.  Her personal guards stood on either side of the thrown, and two more stood on both of the Doctor's sides.  Her personal assistant, Calamity, calmly took notes of the event while giving the newcomer a curious look.

"Your what?" The Queen continued, lost.

"The blue box.  The blue box that I came here in," the Doctor said quickly.

Calamity tilted her head.  "You mean that thing outside of the Palace?"

"Yes!" He said, remembering seeing his time machine on his way in.

Ruby nodded.  "I suppose I could let you go..."

Calamity interrupted.  "Wait, Your Majesty.  We don't know if he's hurt anyone."

"Oh, you're right," Ruby said, looking at her assistant.  Calamity was only a year or two younger than Ruby, and the two had become close friends.  The Queen, only 10 moons, was the youngest known to be on the SkyWing thrown.  "Well?" she asked, turning back to the Doctor.  "Have you?"

"No," said the Doctor, cursed memories coming up in his mind.  True, he hadn't hurt any dragon, but he had, sad as it is, hurt many creatures over his centuries of living.

She sighed.  "Okay.  I hereby pardon 'the Doctor' from being prisoner of the SkyWings."  As the Doctor left with two guards following him, the Queen winked and lowered her voice so only he could hear.  "Not that I would hold you or anyone else prisoner."

The Doctor grinned and bowed to the Queen before he left the room.

Suddenly, a soft voice spoke.  "Um, Mr. Doctor, sir?"

The Doctor whipped around, looking at young Calamity.  "Yes?"

The Queen's assistant's gaze shifted from Ruby to the Doctor.  "Can I talk with you outside?  As long as Your Majesty is okay with that."

Ruby nodded, knowing her best friend would be fine.  "Alright.  You are dismissed.  That goes for you two as well."  She said to Calamity and the guards.  Besides, if anything happened, then Calamity would be able to handle it; she was one of the best soldiers in the SkyWing army.

The guards looked at each other, then the Queen, and shrugged.  At least this gave them more time to finish their surprisingly fast-paced game of 'Go Fish'.

Calamity led the Doctor out of the Palace, stopping in front of the TARDIS.  "One of the guards told me that you said this was a time machine."

The Doctor reluctantly nodded.  Calamity gave him a sly look, grinning at the TARDIS.  "Perfect.  Just perfect."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ooh!  Cliffhanger!  What is Calamity planning?  I think my favorite part of this chapter was writing about Queen Ruby.  We haven't seen much of her in the books so far.  So, a few things about this chapter:

Calamity is one of my OCs.  I think I put her in to spice things up.

I honestly don't know why the SkyWing guards would be playing 'Go Fish'.  Hey, I think if paper and fish exist in Pyrrhia, then card games and 'Go Fish' should too!

What did you guys think of this chapter?  Tell me!  Chapter 3 is coming soon!

Chapter 3: Ms. Calamity and The Doctor

The SkyWing flared her wings open upon entering the TARDIS.  "It's--it's--"

"'It's'?" the Doctor prompted, grinning.  He loved this part.

"Bigger on the inside," she finished breathlessly.  Darting to the controls, she studied them.  She seemed much happier, much more excited than she was earlier.  "Except all these buttons and levers look like they were made for Scavengers."

"Scavengers!" he said rather loudly, wondering if that had a different meaning in this world.

Calamity walked over to him, tilting her head.  "Yeah.  Scavengers.  The things that walk on two legs, and are all skinny.  Little bit of fur on their heads.  Not much.  Sometimes they're hunted."

He winced, wondering if he should tell her, but changed the subject.  "So.  Um.  I presume you wanted to go somewhere?"

"Oh, yes!"  She said, a smile crossing her snout.  "There's someplace I've always wanted to go...the Ice kingdom.  Do you know where that is?"

"Hmm."  He scratched his chin thoughtfully.  "Well, that guard did manage to tell me the basics of Pyrrhia.  Ice kingdom, it is."

"I've always wanted to see IceWings up close.  I've never fought with them before--" and then the smile left her snout, now looking terrified and regretful.

"N-never mind," she sighed, her old self seeping through.  "I-I don't think the Queen would let me do this, anyways."

The Doctor stopped messing with the controls and turned to her.  "Why?"

"Nothing.  Nothing important," Calamity said.  "I-I should go."

He frowned.  "Oh, of course not.  You come here, burst into a time machine, say you want to go somewhere and don't do it?  What's the point in that?  Besides, I can have you back in an hour or so."  The Time-Lord walked over to her, seeing something was seriously wrong.

"Is 'Calamity' even your real name?" he asked, curious.

"Calamity Catastrophe Destroyer the III," she told him with a snarl, "is my full name."

The Doctor looked puzzled.  "A warrior-family name?"

Instead, she turned to the TARDIS controls.  "Look at this thing!  Now I really know you don't come from Pyrrhia.  All of this-this--stuff.  It's brilliant."

"Thank you.  The TARDIS thinks you're brilliant, too," he said, smiling.

  "It's alive?"

"Oh, yes, she's alive," he said, patting the console.  "Been with me for centuries now."

She stared at him.  "Centuries?  The average dragon's life span is 110.  You must be lucky...but then again, you can't be from Pyrrhia."

"Well, I'm not," he mumbled, trying to keep it under wraps.  Then, he continued with his previous request.  "Ice kingdom!  Alright, then, what year?"

"Mmm, sometime between the Scorching and the beginning of the war...some of the old dragons talk about the Scorching...even they don't remember a lot of it," she told him, seeming lost in her thoughts.

"Hold on!" he yelled as her pressed some buttons.  The TARDIS started throwing them around.  It made the typical 'VWORP VWORP' noise it did.

Calamity held onto the console for dear life, only to be thrown backwards.  "Is it supposed to do this?!" She yelled above the noise.

"Yes!" The Doctor answered, grinning.  "But it's a little more violent than usual!  She can only travel through Pyrrhia now, and I need to fix that.  She's trying to figure out what she's doing!"

Calamity opened her wings and tried flying in the mess.  "You know, this is kind of fun!"

He laughed.  "I think we're here, if you could come down!"

She did, landing awkwardly on the grated metal floor of the TARDIS.  "We're really here?  Really?"

"Really really," he said, opening the door.

Out in front of them was a vast land of snow and ice.  Queen Glacier's Palace glimmered in the background.  (This was the past, so a different Queen must have been ruling, possibly Queen Diamond.)  There was a wall surrounding the Palace and it's surrounding villages, which weren't very big, but still very technologically advanced compared to other dragon civilizations of the day.  Many buildings made of ice shimmered in the early morning sunlight.

  Calamity took it all in.

Surprised by the SkyWing's silence, the Time-Lord turned dragon lightly tapped her with a wing.  "You okay?"

She ran into the TARDIS, then back out, then in again, then out again.  Finally, the dragon stopped and stared at the city.  "It's exactly how I'd imagined it."

"Is that good?" He asked, knowing if something was too perfect, it could be a trap.

"There's one problem," she admitted, pointing with a talon to the IceWings guarding the outside of the wall.  "They've never had IceWings guarding outside the wall like that.  Only during the war.  And, um...I wanted to go when the war hadn't started."

Two IceWing guards swooped down, landing in front of the Doctor and Calamity.  "Halt in the name of Queen Glacier!"

The Doctor gulped as he and Calamity raised their talons in the air.  He looked sheepishly at Queen Ruby's assistant and said nervously, "Um...TARDIS malfunction?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another cliffhanger!  What's Calamity hiding?  Who are these IceWings?  Why did the TARDIS take them to the wrong time?  (Well, the TARDIS messes up like that sometimes...so that's normal.)  Chapter 4 is coming soon!  Sorry this chapter was so short, I didn't have a lot of time to work on it.  Oh, and Fierywolf: I am putting Glacialis in the next chapter, and she will be friends with one of my IceWing OC's.  Is that okay?  You said earlier there was another character you wanted me to use.  Do you still want me to use him/her?

Thank you all for the good comments!  Please keep reading!  I hope you enjoy!

current mood: Hey there, gang ... guess who's visiting? :)

@Fierywolf  Hmmm.  Also very interesting, and I think I can make it work.  I just wrote a chapter in the Ice Kingdom, so what if...(you don't have to agree with this, but this is what I might do to make it work)...

Harmony now lives in the Ice Kingdom with her friend Glacialis.  Her mother, Scarlet's sister Mockingbird, made Scarlet throw her into the arena because she didn't want to join the SkyWing army. Glacialis convinced Queen Glacier to accept Harmony as a guard, since Harmony didn't want to return to the Sky Kingdom, and now the two are guards in the Ice Kingdom.  Will that work?  I'm also thinking about a small section where the Doctor talks about Scavengers, and how he has/had a lot of Scavenger friends, to them and Calamity.  Please tell me if this will work.  The rest of Harmony's history, personality, and everything on the form is kept the same.

(Also, at the end of the next chapter, I asked about Harmony and if you had her form ready.  Please ignore that.)

Mockingbird is a very nice dragon (and ruler). She wouldn't throw her own kid in the arena. Or are you saying Scarlet put her in the arena?

Other than that it sounds good. (I'm not confused-ish any where else)

Also, possiblity: maybe she was killed because Scarlet didn't want anyone in line for the thrown, and sent someone to kill her?  Still, up to you.)

(Mods, please let this through!)

Chapter Four: Cold as Ice

The light blue IceWing raised her tail threateningly towards the throats of the SkyWing duo.

"We're just...passing through..." the Doctor begun, but his lack of knowledge on Pyrrhia stopped him from going any further.

Surprisingly enough, Calamity spoke up, bravely.  "We're on official orders from Queen Scarlet.  We need to see Queen Glacier.  He's my scribe."

The Doctor gave her a curious look, as he wasn't sure if they should meet this 'Queen Glacier' judging by the way she choked on Scarlet's name.  (Also, he didn't like being called a scribe. ((Not that there's anything wrong with scribes.)) He was a time-traveler!  But he couldn't tell them that.)

"Hmm."  The first IceWing guard lowered her tail and motioned to the second guard.  "Glacialis, what do you think?  Are they lying?"

The dragon she addressed 'Glacialis', who was much smaller than the first, stepped forward, studying them quizitively.  She didn't look like a typical IceWing; she had some glowing scales here and there, a snowflake upon her chest, and her talons were webbed half-way.  (As IceWings didn't have webs, this in particular was peculiar.)  Her blue eyes were striking, like the sky.  Overall, however, she was beautiful.  "Well...I don't think so, Sleet," she said quietly.  "They look nice.  Please don't hurt them!"

The first guard, Sleet, sighed.  "Fine.  But if you're going to go to Glacier, that might take a while.  And..."  She looked at Glacialis knowingly.

"Don't tell me there's another prison!"  The Doctor said, rather abruptly.

"No, IceWings don't have prisons.  Usually for other dragons, Her Majesty tortures them in some other way," Sleet told him as if everyone knew.  "But a prison isn't a half-baked idea."

"Something's wrong with the Queen," Glacialis announced suddenly.

"Well, that's why we came," Calamity said.  "My friend here is a doctor."

"Thank you," the Doctor turned to Calamity, giving her a sour look, as if he was telling her 'please don't call me a scribe again'.  "What's the matter with her?"

"She's always pacing around the palace," Sleet began, "as if she's plotting something.  Guards have been disappearing, and not showing up to work.  Glacier hasn't been doing anything about it, and that's odd, because usually she'll at least put them in Seventh Circle."

"Don't forget about the chanting," Glacialis reminded her fellow guard, worried.

"Yes, the chanting.  She's been up at night, saying this weird incantation, and then there's this freak snowstorm inside the palace--me and Glacialis haven't seen what happens next," Sleet said, shivering ever so slightly, then whacking herself with her tail to force herself to stop.

"You don't think..." the Doctor started, looking at them sternly, but with a certain knowledge of otherworldly things, "...the disappearances are related to the Queen's behavior?"

"Possibly," Sleet admitted, "but the Queen would never hurt one of her subjects unless they did something really terrible."

Glacialis gasped, not even considering that.  "I hope not!  That would be terrible!"

Calamity looked at the two of them.  "So you'll let us into the Palace to investigate?"

"Why would you be coming with him?  I mean, he's a doctor, he has a job to do.  What about you?  And why help our Queen?  We're your enemies," Sleet shot back with an edge to her voice.

  Calamity blank faced.  "Uh..."

"...She's my assistant.  A nurse, if you will," the Doctor said quickly, winking at Calamity.  "And I believe Scarlet said something about 'scouting out enemy territory' while we're here, but she's not here now, so who says we have to do that?" he grinned.

Sleet stared at them.  "You two are weird."

"If we weren't weird, we wouldn't be interesting, would we?"  The Doctor said, still smiling.  "Come along, now, we have to get to the Palace!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I loved writing this chapter!  I personally love the Ice Kingdom since reading Winter Turning, so I figured it would be a good place to set up the plot even further.  Also, credit to Fierywolf for Glacialis; I also found her very fun to write, and she will be returning for the next chapter, which will also be introducing Fierywolf's OC Harmony once I get an okay from her.  Thanks for all the nice comments!  Please keep reading!  Please let this through, mods, it wouldn't go through last time: my computer glitched.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting, but I have to post the next chapter tomorrow.  I'm really glad you all like it so much!  I've never gotten such a positive reaction to one of my stories!  :-)  While you wait, why not talk about the part you thought was funniest so far?
