The new student is at the front of the classroom, shuffling his feet nervously. He has slightly messy light brown hair and deep blue eyes. He’s wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and black glasses. Both of his hands are in the pockets of his sweatshirt. The teacher walked into the classroom and introduced the new student.
”We have a new student today, class. This is Benjamin-“
”Ben. Just Ben.” The new student interrupted.
”...Ben Teslow. Would you like say a few things about yourself?”
Ben shook his head in alarm. “Er, no thanks.” He walked to the back of the room and sat at an empty desk there. The teacher gave Ben a look of an odd mixture of pity and... fright? What’s that all about? The teacher then sat as his desk and listened to music out of the earbuds of his phone, ignoring the students. Ben pulled out a sheet of paper from his bag that had sketches and notes of something that looked like a computer, and began to scribble down some more notes. The weird thing was, he only used his left hand to do it. His right was still in his pocket.
Why is he only using his left hand, and why is he hiding his right? And why did the teacher give him that look of pity and fright?
