Today... was strange.

For starters, it was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit. In the middle of winter, and on the east coast of the US, this is waaaayyyy too warm for the season.

The air was full of clouds, the sky full of translucent fog. No matter how you looked at it, the sky was dark. Not in the way how winter lacks sunlight, but rather  it was like where at 7:30 AM a single glimpse of the sun was impossible. In fact, when I got to school, one of my peers told me that they didn’t believe it was the morning.

On top of that, just yesterday the land here was covered in about 3 inches of snow. It’s all gone and melted now, because of the bizarre warmth my area received today.

But the weather was far from the most abnormal thing to happen today.

In first period, the lights flickered. Not just in my specific classroom, across the entire school.

But in less than 30 seconds, it was fixed. The principal told us all to shrug it off, as they were looking into the problem.

In second period, the lights turned off again

This time, it was for a whole minute. But what I didn’t know at the time was that two of the classrooms in our school had lost power completely. Of course, I didn’t know this at the time, so after the lights came back, class was back to normal.

Third period rolls around.

I’m going to one of the classrooms with no electricity whatsoever.

Now, remember. On top of loss of the lights, it’s also rather dark outside. If it wasn’t 50 degrees outside, it also would have been pretty cold.

Back to the story.

This class was Language Arts. I’m not an expert, but I’m pretty sure reading in the dark isn’t the best idea. But, you know, whatever. That’s what we did.

Until the lights in the hallway failed.

At around 10:30, my school officially lost all its power. Sure, we had a generator, but that generator could no longer support the school, at least at the time.

That’s also when it was clear that the odd weather was to blame for this.

I could go say everything else that happened, but basically our school had to close the cafeteria, and people who bought lunch had to get pizza from a very long line. We were also trapped in home room for a good 3 hours.

And then it’s 12:30.

By this point, we’re used to the darkness, but the speakers go off.

Apparently, everyone except for the people in my grade had their power back, and classes were to be resumed.

So we go back to class in the darkness.

Before school finally ends, the power comes back, not only at my school, but all over town, too.

Then I get home.

Within 10 minutes, the lights turned off yet again.

It stayed that way until 6:45.

Today.... was strange.

Your school and town was hit by a meteor in several other universes. That explains the loss of power multiple times.

moved to @thankfulthunderstorm1 :D

This has become a random conspiracy theory thread.

Mount rushmore was made of dried play-doh!

People from Atlantis made the pyramids

so when the fish people flood the earth we can stand on top

That randomness felt good.

Same thing happened with the weather where I am (east coast as well)

Although I can’t say the same about the power

So it’s entirely possible that your area in a dimension parallel to ours had some sort of big power, to such a magnitude that it cracked through the parallel dimensional fabrics and affected your town.

Wow

I say it was ghosts

a gate opened from the spirit realm and that's where the fog came from

then mischievous ghosts tampered with your power and your generator

yesterday for me was half weird

it was really foggy in the morning (but the sky was practically white with this fog. Also I'm Midwest.) and then later some weird stuff happend in school.
