Swampy lifted her head out of the lake. She yawned, displaying her large teeth. She paddled over to the side of the lake to sunbathe. It was quite a sunny day, which wasn't normal near the London gate. Typical England. Sometimes it would be really sunny near the gate and then start pouring down. Not today though. It was way too warm. Her tail was still in the water, flicking it slightly and scaring the lower-class fish. Swampy blinked her grass-green eyes.
A light-grey tabby with greyish-blue eyes strolled over. Her fluffy tail tickled the grass and her paws sent butterflies whirling into the sky.
"Greetings Swampy," she mewed,"I decided to come here as its raining in both No Gate and New York's gate... So England managed to stop raining?"
"Hey Longclaw!" Swampy replied,"Check out this sun!"
"That's why I'm here," she purred.
Longclaw settled beside Swampy. She was considerably smaller than her friend. Swampy was a green crocodile. Not very green, but greener than most. Most outside the gate would be scared of crocodiles or call them 'ugly', but Swampy wasn't like that. She was fiercely beautiful and beautifully fierce. The pair sat waving their tails, not moving other than Longclaw occasionally jumping up to swat a butterfly that caught her attention.
Near the London gate was a field with some bright, small flowers. Next to the field was a huge lake-connected to the Cardiff gate-where you could fish. Swampy swam in it a lot and even gave the forumers rides.
"Wait-Engand stopped raining?" A new voice asked.
Longclaw and Swampy's eyes flashed open. There was a short-furred dog, a husky, with mountain-grey fur apart from her snowy-white stomach and the fur around her forest-green eyes and the tip of her tail. Outside the gate, they would have said she looked like a small wolf, but here she was Weird. Her name was Weird and ruder people would say she was weird but forumers were really nice.
"Mind if I join you? It's not everyday England is sunny after all. I must enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity!" Weird pointed out.
"Sure! We must all enjoy this 1 in a 1,000,000 chance!" Longclaw mewed.
"Yes. That is so true." Swampy agreed.
The trio didn't know what was happening in the New York gate.
