Imagine stood with his friends and watched the sunrise. The pale pink sky glinted off his bright green eyes. His large blue dragon wings shifted with the wind. Imagine ran a hand through his short black hair.
Imagine caught his Fox-Hybrid friend Dellow looking at him. Before he could say anything, Cera let out a squeal.
"CAN YOU BELIVE THIS?! We are actually going to find our Receivers! Or Finders.." She said, glancing at Dellow.
Cera was an Elf, with long dark brown hair currently tucked behind her pointed ears. Her eyes were currently lime green, almost fluorescent with excitement. She was a Yellow Finder, and she often talked about her future best friend.
Dellow was twisting her brown hair into a bun, fitting snugly between her two fox ears. She stuck her hands into the pockets of her hoodie, her orange fox tail flicking in the wind.
At that moment, Winter came running back up the hill. She was a Half-cat Hybrid with dark tan skin and freckles around her nose. Her dark brown hair with periwinkle streaks was tied into a ponytail. Winter's silver cat ears were flicking in different directions. Her silver cat tail was wrapped around her leg.
"The coast is clear." Winter said.
Dellow was a Yellow Receiver, and therefore would get in trouble if they found her out of her hometown. But she had insisted on joining her Finder friends once they had graduated.
Imagine stepped forward.
"Well this is it, ready to find my soulmate!" He smiled shakily. If Imagine was honest, he was kind of nervous. What if she was a criminal? What if he didn't even like her?
Imagine glanced at Dellow again. He knew she liked him, but he wasn't sure if he returned the feelings.
"Ready to find my best friend!" Cera exclaimed, stepping next to Imagine.
"Ready to find my Finder!" Dellow said, doing the same.
"Ready to find whatever it is in supposed to find!" Winter said, fiddling with her purple string.
Imagine was stunned about how she wasn't even a tiny bit worried. If Imagine had a mysterious purple string, he would be awake day and night trying to figure out what it meant.
But he smiled. No matter what happened, he would still have his amazing friends with him. With that thought in mind, the group trekked on.
The group had followed their strings into the more populated districts of Antropas. This part of the country-like city was the most crime raided.
Winter looked nervously around them. They were resting in an alleyway.
"Guys, I have a really bad feeling about this place." Winter said. She didn't usually get this creeped out.
The rest of her friends, obviously seeing her uncharacteristic uncomfort, nodded in agreement.
"Let's keep going." Dellow said, standing up.
Imagine zipped up their backpack of food and supplies.
The group walked out onto the crowded sidewalk. Cars zoomed past them on the road. Every person was in a rush to get to work.
Winter looked up at the looming skyscrapers. Something about the district reminded her of the terrifying nightmare she had dreamt of the night before.
Winter's cat tail stood on end. Something about this seemed way too similar to her dream. The dark sky, the fog in the air. All that was missing were the...
A scream was heard from down the street.
Winter froze in fear. She couldn't hear anything. Darkness was creepying towards her. They were appearing everywhere. Screams filled her head. Winter couldn't feel her legs. The world was spinning...
Imagine pulled her into the corner of a building. The rest if her friends were there.
"What is happening?" Cera yelled over the noise.
"I don't know! Winter, are you ok?" Dellow asked.
Winter was shaking all over.
"I've seen this... the... the dream I told you about?" She stammered.
Imagine nodded in thought.
"I think we-" he was interrupted as three hooded figure appeared in front of us.
Each of them were cloaked and hooded. They had masks over their mouths, so all that was seen was their dark eyes. On the top of their hood, a TF was embroidered in silver thread. They all held glimmering scissors in their hands.
"RUN!" Imagine screamed.
They bolted out into the road. Winter couldn't tell her screams apart from the rest. The streets were a frantic stampede of people. The sky's were filled with people trying to fly away. Gunshots were sounding in every direction.
Winter watched as tons of strings around her were turning black.
The hooded figures were catching up. One grabbed for Winter but she dodged him. Imagine tried to take to the air, but he was blocked by winged hooded figures. They pushed through the dense crowd of screaming people.
Cera let out a scream and fell to the ground. She watched as her yellow string disintegrated in front of her eyes. All that was left was a black ring on her pinkie.
"My... my best friend..." Cera whimpered.
Dellow grabbed Cera and tried to drag her through the crowd. But the hooded figures were already upon her. They dragged Cera out if Dellow's grasp.
Winter screamed and tried to go after her.
Winter gasped. "NO!" She screamed, but Dellow pulled her back. Winter turned around and tried to push her away.
"Stop! I have to save her!" Winter yelled.
Dellow held her with tears in her eyes.
"It's too late..." she said. Dellow pulled Winter out of the crowd and they followed Imagine.
They lost the figures in the stampede of people.
Winter didn't know how long they ran. She just kept running. She ran in fear, and in anger. Why couldn't been me?
After a while, Imagine said they were out of the district.
Winter collapsed into the grass. She began to sob.
Dellow hugged her, crying as well. Imagine sat with his head in his hands, not wanting them to see him cry.
"I can't... I can't believe... she's gone...." Dellow whispered between tears.
Winter let her sadness flow. Her heart was heavy with regret and fear.
If the lady from her dream expected them to go up against that, then they would all soon be joining Cera.
