matching colours = mates
Small, and nearest to the beach than the 4 insect clans. They have a wide range of small trees, like birch, but sometimes (although rarely) find oaks. They have the nursery and elders den high in the branches of the single oak tree they have, while the medicine cat is found hidden under a large rock near the oak. The rock entrance faces away from the beach, in case of flooding.
The warriors den isn't really a den- warriors just sleep on the many intertwined birch trees. Each warrior has a special tree which they mark with their scent. Mates will often plant a tree together as a sign of their love.
The apprentice den is the closest to the beach, thanks to the driftwood that warriors often leave there. The den is securely in the ground, but is able to be moved safely and quickly by the apprentices in case of invasion or flooding. They often carry sand from the beach into the den to make sand nests.
The deputy's den is under the ground, similar to that of the med cat's, but is near the border of the camp. This den has multiple entrances, but only one is the true entrance. It also has tunnels connecting it to 'spotting' trees- trees with scarred bark that is easy to climb down from, letting the deputy guard without leaving the territory.
The leaders den is under the oak, between the roots. It is easy to access by disabled cats, as the slope is not steep nor with any jutting rocks. Roots hang overhead, and give the leader a lifeline if the den does somehow flood.
RELATIONS WITH OTHER CLANS
A road runs through the border between Hornetclan and Antclan (north of them), so the two are often friendly to each other at gatherings. There is also a thick treeline between the two, so any interactions are by Hornetclan tree-hoppers (patrols) meeting the many Antclan med cats.
Antclan often lends herbs to Hornetclan, while Hornetclan will often give Antclan stolen honey from Beeclan. It isn't strange to see Antclan members becoming mates with Hornetclan members and vice versa.
Hornetclan has a strained relationship with Beeclan (west of them), as they often must steal honey from Beeclan. Honey is sacred to Beeclan, and Hornetclan stealing it is not welcome in any regards. Beeclan however, is very peaceful, so the two do not war very often. Any battles that do happen are often short lived.
Hornetclan does not interact with Mothclan (east to Antclan), but to Hornetclan cats they seem distant and almost eerie, although Hornetclan cats would easily beat them. Any interactions between the two are short and brief.
