@twilightdragon - Not so much of a secret, though if you don't see me in these parts anymore then we'll know I said too much, hahaha! For our 3d modelling our studio/I predominately use Maya LT, though I think they were using Houdini a bit too (but that is all wizard stuff to me). Blender can be used too, ultimately anything that can export a .fbx file is good. For the actual construction of the experience we use Unity engine. I believe our (incredibly talented) animator does animate in Maya.

@catlink Mmmm...maybe? ;) We have a lot of options! Perhaps sometime I'll tell you the story of how I (rather unsuccessfully) tried to review all the combinations, it's a good lesson about permutations.

@nightseeker We will take your ideas under consideration- alas we encountered some technical limitations that relate to this (and I doubt I can say too much more than that), but please don't count us down and out yet! And what you described could be a way of building out a train, the fun thing is modelling is that there are often many ways to achieve a result!

And with that I had better get back to work But I'll pop in again soon I'm sure!

Also- before the math police come for me - I mentioned permutations before when I meant combinations (basically discovering how many different possibilities there between different variables) and in briefly looknig this up I discovered I need to go back to math class, but I digress

Well, @Shion, maybe you could try entering "blender 3d noob to pro wikibooks" in your search engine and see what comes up. Hopefully a page titled "Blender 3D: Noob to Pro - Wikibooks" will show up, if you read that book you'll be a Blender pro by the end of it (would give you link to it, but as you know, links to non-Scholastic websites aren't allowed ). If said page doesn't show up, well, I don't think I can give any more advice without violating forum rules.

hahaha, I don't use Blender myself, I could never figure it out. Learned Maya first and just stuck with that... I just know that theoretically you could! If you do learn it, you'll earn 500 respect points from me.
