(if this double posts THIS IS THE REAL ONE)
I want to thank the writer of the Percy Jackson books, Rick Riordan. His books helped me get through some rough times when I was younger and when I was just learning I had ADHD myself. I looked up to Percy a lot and could relate to the character. For some reason, when I was a kid, I actually thought I was a demigod?? I had this weird conspiracy theory that my dad wasn’t my actual dad and everything, even though he clearly is. Also, I ddn’t read the first book for around a week because the intro scared me to bits and pieces, despite not even being that scary. I hope everyone else who decides to join this has had as happy of an experience as I had with the books.
Welcome to Camp Half-Blood, home to the progeny of the Greek gods and goddesses- better known as demigods or half-bloods. The camp is situated on the Long Island Sound, directed by the god Dionysus, also known as Mr. D. The borders of the camp are magical and the magic is enforced by an artifact known as the Golden Fleece. Monsters and regular mortals cannot enter the camp unless invited; in addition, weather patterns (ie: snow, rain) do not occur in the camp unless Dionysus wills them to. (Put ‘Camp’ in Other if you’ve read this far.)
There’s a cabin for the children of each god and goddess, be it Olympian or minor. The camp’s oracle occasionally utters prophecies that send some of the demigod campers on perilous quests; some don’t make it back alive, doomed to fail their quest miserably. See, almost every demigod has what’s called a ‘fatal flaw’, or hamartia, known in Greek epics as their tragic flaw. These physical, mental, or emotional flaws are the downfall of the hero or heroine, ultimately leading to failure or death. But on that happy note, the camp has a strawberry field! So go have fun and be... kids! Possibly angsty kids but still kids!
1: I’d prefer virtually no children of the Big Three. A few are alright, but if there’s too many, I can and will put a ban on children of the Big Three.
2: Hate the character, not the person.
3: Don’t take over other people’s plots. This is general RP etiquette.
4: Make! Original! Characters! Don’t copy someone else’s character or a character from canon. Taking inspiration? That’s okay. But copying someone else’s character and just changing the name, wording of the personality, etc.? Not okay at all. (Put ‘Half’ in Other if you’ve read this far.)
5: Shipping is okay. LGBTQ+ ships and characters are also allowed.
6: Tying in with the rule above, your character can have a crush on another character without permission from the other RPer. However, don’t FORCE the ship onto the other person.
7: Don’t be OP, make a Mary/Gary Stu, etc.
8: Only mods can accept forms. You cannot RP a character if their form has not been accepted.
9: The first character of any god or goddess that is entered is the counselor of their cabin unless otherwise specified by the RPer in the Other section.
10: Have fun, y’all. (Put ‘Blood’ in Other if you’ve read this far.)
Name: Rebbecca Maria Gia Bennato
Appearance: Rebbecca is 5’4” in height; she’s petite. Rebbecca has warm platinum blond hair ending mid-back length with a bit of a wave to it. She usually styles her hair in a ponytail. Her eyes are ice blue, framed by darker lashes. Rebbecca typically wears a pair of shorts and the standard orange Camp Half Blood T-shirt.
Personality: Rebbecca is basically a ball of sunshine. She’s cheerful and tries to cheer others up as much as possible; she’s patient, and doesn’t seem to have a short temper. She’s someone who believes in second chances... and maybe third chances... as you can see, Rebbecca’s a bit gullible/naïve. She’s easily manipulated and drawn into believing webs of lies unless it’s blatantly obvious something is up. Rebbecca is a philanthropist; she believes in people and loves humanity. She usually looks on the bright side of things- and with that, her optimistic ideals can sometimes border on idealism. Her curiosity is another notable trait of hers; she’s curious as a cat and loves to gain knowledge for the sake of gaining knowledge. Subsequently, she’s book smart, but not street smart. She’s a bit cheeky at times, which is more or less a result of her naïveté; she doesn’t know the cue when to stop biting off more than she can chew. Rebbecca bottles up her negative emotions, believing she needs to be strong for other people.
Abilities: Like most children of Apollo, Rebbecca can inflict curses on others. A notable example is rhymed speech. She possesses the rare ability to manipulate light- however, she can’t create light (rendering it a useless power in dark environments), and it tires her out when used for prolonged periods of time. Sometimes she even faints.
Godly Parent: Apollo
Weapon: Rebbecca has a standard bow and arrow which is, like how she can be considered, basic.
Physical Strengths: Good with a bow/ranged weapons in general; innate sense of direction, can tell how fast the wind is going. Essentially, skills that good archers tend to have.
Mental Strengths: Book smart; has a good memory.
Emotional Strengths: Optimistic.
Physical Weaknesses: Physically weaker than other demigods due to not really focusing on improving her strength; lacks general strength. Without a weapon she’s kinda toast.
Mental Weaknesses: Like most demigods, Rebbecca has ADHD (inattentive type) and dyslexia. She’s also naïve/gullible.
Fatal Flaws: Rebbecca’s extreme optimism is her most notable fatal flaw, as she may not be able to acknowledge something could go wrong/consider something might go bad. Her bottling up of her negative emotions leads her to have bursts of negative emotions— in essence, rare mood swings. She often gets either extremely angry, extremely sad, or both.
Other: >:3 i don’t have to put anything here,,, she b the Apollo counselor. also, she has an italian heritage.
