Uuuuuuugh so yeah that was a dissapointment
There was so much violence I just. Ugh I hated that.
And you know how for movie series, you can take one movie, and yeah it's part of an overarching plot, but it's still it's own story and you feel somewhat satisfied at the end? Alita just didnt do that. It felt like I binged half a season of a show and then stopped in the middle. The end didn't feel like an end.
And just... Alita herself. I love movies about heroes. Alita never felt like a hero. She never did anything selfless to save someone else. She didn't really save anyone at all. She just beat bad guys up.
AND THE DOG. OKAY IM UPSET. WHY. THAT WAS NOT OKAY. IM MAD.
The visuals were great and I loved the fights where nobody died or anything because it was so visually pleasing to watch. I just. I tried but I couldn't like this movie. I really, really wanted to.
Before I saw this and Captain Marvel, I thought I'd love Alita and not like Captain Marvel, but it was actually the opposite.
So yeah I left the theater thoroughly unsatisfied.

And oh, there is no power on Earth, or below
That could ever break our hearts Or shake our souls
And when you Lay Me Down you'll only bury bones
'Cause oh, my heart and soul are going home
